What is it?
Yet another Admin application for AutoShare, the free listserver by Mikael Hansen.
I created this Admin for KPPM to be able to administer AutoShare by Web, which I needed since I had no AppleTalk connection to the KPPM's server. If you run MailShare compatible mailserver, AutoShare and any WebSTAR compatible WWW server on the same machine, with this Remote Admin you get full remote control to your listserver.
What does it need?
AutoShare 2.1 Remote Admin is an AppleScript application which benefits on ACME Script Widgets' features. You will need version 2.5.1 or newer of this Scripting Addition. It also uses the File IO OSAX by Late Night Software (see http://www.latenightsw.com/) for mailing lists creating and deleting.
Compatibility of AutoShare Remote Admin 1.0.1 is guaranted only for version 2.1 of AutoShare.
How to install?
Simply put the as_admin.acgi application somewhere in the Web server folder structure, and then set up a realm to disable unwanted access to the Admin. Then you can call it like any othe ACGI application.
How much does it cost?
It would be very silly to make a commercial addition to any freeware product. So, since AutoShare is completely free, the AutoShare Remote Admin is also free. But I appreciate any positive or negative feedback from you, or just an info that you are using the Remote Admin.
